  1. 3 lines of writing. No description in Agrawala.

An image of a seated Buddha, "very perfect … with a headdress like that now worn by the Abbots in Bhutân. It is a plain cap, fitting close to the head, with long lappets on each side. The figure is naked to the waist, and clad below in a dhoti which reaches to the ankles. The eyes are half closed, as if in meditation." (#Cunningham_1880a:6). No dimensions reported.

Inscriptions
  1. The inscription is on the pedestal, one line along the top edge, another along the bottom edge. The height given here is for the two lines combined; the top line is about 2 cm tall, the bottom is 2.5 cm tall.

A broken sandstone image of which only the pedestal and the feet remain, and which appears to be a standing Buddha. Dimensions are of the extant portion (and I'm not sure which figure goes for which dimension as neither Srivastava nor Agrawala specify this). The proper right portion of the pedestal is broken away.

Event History

The proper left side (about one third) of the pedestal, which seems to be an ancient replacement for a broken-off part.

Event History

An image of the Buddha standing on a lotus. The proper left side (about one third) of the pedestal seems to have been lost in antiquity and replaced with a piece of halo from an earlier Buddha image on which the text was re-inscribed. This piece (%O-0038b) was found separately, some distance away from the image, and has now been refitted.

Inscriptions
  1. The inscription is on the pedestal. Dimensions and letter size is from Bhandarkar_1981, but note that 3 lines in letters 3.8 cm in height cannot possibly fit in an area 7 cm tall. Probably the letters are 1/2 rather than 1 1/2 inch high.
