Sanjeli Plate 1 of the time of Toramana

A single plate, inscribed on one side only, deeply engraved. The top left corner is broken off. This is not noted in the description, but the rims appear to be raised.

History details
Discovered in 1974 in Sañjeli, Zalod Taluka, Panchmahal District, Gujarat. Three plates (%OB00094, %OB00095, %OB00096) were found together, in the earth at a depth of 30 cm, by a farmer while tilling his field. The farmer folded the plates in three to fit them in a bag. They were eventually taken to the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History, Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, Gujarat. Here they were cleaned mechanically and chemically.
