History details
Found by K. N. Dikshit on 29 November 1927 while excavating a great temple at Pāhāṛpur (sic), Rājśāhi District, Bengal. Discovered in debris in the circumambulatory passage to where it had evidently fallen from a higher level along with bricks and mud. A hole was accidentally punched in the plate at this time, causing damage to the penultimate three lines of the recto and the first three lines of the verso side. It was covered with verdigris and has been cleaned chemically.
