<p>The cave is on the northern side of Nāgārjunī Hill, the easternmost member of the group that includes Barābar Hill. Its façade bears a Mauryan inscription (which names the cave Vaḍathikā kubhā) above the doorway, and Anantavarman's inscription (%IN00153) on the right-hand side of the entrance (probably inside the doorway, but this is not clear from Fleet's description).</p>

<p>Eight lines of text in an excellent state of preservation. Justified at the margins and with a vertical space down the middle; each half-line consists of exactly one half-verse, thus the characters of l5-6 (in sragdharā) are slightly smaller, while those of l7-8 (in mandākrāntā) are more widely spaced than those of l1-4 (in śārdūlavikrīḍita).</p>
