Kasia Buddha Image

A colossal image of the Buddha's parinirvāṇa. The sculpture was found shattered, with several pieces missing, others restored in plaster. Dimensions above are for the assembled pedestal. The inscription is on the western side of the pedestal (apparently on a single fragment of the original), below one of three sculptures here. The sculpture depicts a man squatting, with his back to the viewer and his face, invisible, turned toward the Buddha.
